The data and insights that can be gained from regularly checking your Google Analytics reports can be both interesting and important to your marketing and website optimization efforts. For example, you will want to be aware of any sudden dramatic change to the number of visitors your website is receiving. But even once you have overcome any apprehension about using the service, it can still be time consuming to regularly login and check the reports you want to view. There are two ways in which you can make this easier:
1. Create Shortcuts
When you are viewing a report that you think you will want to re-visit regularly, simple click on the "Shortcut" button at the top of the report to add it to your "Shortcuts" heading on the left menu:
The next time you login, this report will be accessible simply by clicking on that heading:
2. Schedule Email Reports
If even logging into Google Analytics is an inconvenience for you, and let's face it we all have many other tasks to attend to, you can instruct the system to send you a specific report by email on a regular basis by clicking on the "Email" button at the top of the report:
You can even set the report to be emailed at different frequencies, specify the day of the week it should be sent, and for how long the instruction should last:
As we have seen, you can make it much easier for yourself to stay up-to-date with the Google Analytics data that you are interested in. And, if you delegate website management to someone else in your team, you can make sure there is no excuse for them not to be viewing reports by having it emailed to them on a regular basis.
